Dear partners, friends and visitors,

I welcome you all to this new issue of the HelloNet Newsletter which is available on line today.

This issue is devoted to our partner meeting in Lisbon. We were all looking forward to it as we had not met for quite some time and were very anxious about it.

Our meeting took place from 11 to 14 December and Jose Antonio, Ana from Valencia, Roula and Andreas from Thessaloniki and Laurence from Liege took part in it. We also had the chance to meet other people that work for our project there as well as Mrs Elsa Rodrigues dos Santos, the president of the Institute of Culture which is our partner institution in Lisbon. I informed the participants that our partner institution the University of Dijon was about to replace our liaison and for this reason they did not appear at the meeting. Also Helen from the TEI of Athens was unable to take part as she was attending another meeting in her institution.

We had our meetings in the hospitable premises of the Sociedade da Lingua Portuguesa which are in the center of the city and very close to the hotel where we stayed. We discussed different issues relating to the progress of our work and agreed on future priorities. Everybody reported about the work already done, the difficulties faced and the problems that needed to be resolved.

We discussed matters concerning partner roles and responsibilities as the project goes on and new tasks emerge on the way. The issue of dissemination, a hot issue, was also discussed in detail. We agreed about the next priorities and tasks. Financial issues were also discussed.

The weather was lovely for a December. There was much sunshine and no rain at all. On one evening we had the chance to stroll through Lisbon’s crowded streets, taste the local vacalao and listen to the famous Fados singers, an unforgettable experience.

We thank deeply Jose Antonio for being such a warm host, he showed us around Lisbon, helped with the language, advised us on local dishes, introduced us to local music and did everything in order for us to feel comfortable and nice in his city. We thank him very very much.

Regards to you all from Greece,

Roula Kartali
